America The Beautiful with a gentle new treatment; an inspired crescendo born from the mind of Cherie A memorable highlight of past Christmas Pops concerts, a moving rendition of America The Beautiful arranged and orchestrated by Cherie Plant. The familiar patriotic number flows from melodic whispered voices of the quoir to build and build like Ravell's Bolero to a spine tingling Spiritual Experience. The power of the arrangement creates long standing ovation and audience adulations extended to Cherie Plant and the performers all. The reference to spine tingling is not to be taken lightly, it seems everyone present shared the same emotional impact on their bodies as the blend of voices complimented by the orchestra sent warm chills ebbing and flowing in harmony with Plant's arrangement. Several noted it stands as the most impressive version of America The Beautiful they'd ever heard. This unique moment will hopefully remain a staple of The Christmas Pops for fans to look forward to each year.

Christmas Pops is highly approved by Santa Claus
In the photo above and below Paul Plant gathers the children in the audience right up on stage to give them some serious information on how they should be aware that Santa Claus is watching . . . . . . . . . .After the few minutes with Director Plant there's every chance the children's parents will have well disciplined children right up to the morning of December 26, the day after Christmas.

A heritage to preserve, A heritage to cherish; Southern Gospel Quartet Music began with James D. Vaughan. His vision has been realized, Southern Gospel Quartet Music is ringing out all over the world and steadily growing in popularity. James D. Vaughan is no longer with us, however his spirit lives and his legacy grows wherever any Southern Gospel Quartet blends its voices before throngs of fans. Lawrenceburg, Tennessee is where Vaughan's ideas were set in motion. Lawrenceburg is recognized as the official birthplace of Southern Gospel Quartet Music by an act of The United States Congress. From that simple beginning SGQM has spanned the globe. Such a phenomenon deserves high praise, ongoing recognition, and most importantly, preservation. We must preserve the heritage not only for the community, but whomever has been touched even in a small way by James D. Vaughan's magnificent contribution. This is your opportunity to express your appreciation with a contribution in whatever amount you can afford. One hundred percent of your financial support will go directly to the development and maintenance of The James D. Vaughan Crockett Theater Annex, formerly the KRAUS BUILDING. Located on North Military next to the Crockett Theater the The Annex is devoted to enhance the accommodations of the theater for patrons and performers. This plan made possible by the generosity of Hazel Kraus, widow of the late Joe Kraus. The Kraus building is where Hazel practiced Optometry until her retirement in 1996. Hazel donated her building to the newly formed James D. Vaughan Real Estate Trust without which none of this would be possible. The proximity to the theater inspired Hazel Kraus to create an anchor location to expand the James D. Vaughan heritage. Vaughan's effort has grown to legendary proportions making him well known among gospel music enthusiasts world-wide. James D. Vaughan is recognized as 'The Father of Southern Gospel Quartet Music.' Hazel Kraus explained. "this history is important to preserve and cherish and I want to do what little I can to see that it is done." Vaughan founded Southern Gospel Quartet four part harmony on the square in Lawrenceburg on the present site of SunTrust Bank. The JAMES D. VAUGHAN MUSEUM IS ON THE TOP FLOOR OF SUNTRUST BANK. It is in walking distance on the south side of the public square, due south from the Crockett Theater. Please visit the James D. Vaughan Museum while you are in Lawrenceburg; a worthwhile visit for sure! Chuck Doerflinger, Paul Plant, J.A. Whitehead, and Jon Kelly along with Hazel Kraus are serving as the initial board of directors for The James D. Vaughan Real Estate Trust. Doerflinger and Plant are local attorneys and Jon Kelly is the last remaining family member in the present day Southern Gospel Quartet known as, 'The Kellys.' Even though the building comes to us as a gift from Dr. Kraus, it is now important to see to it there's funding for on-going renovation and operation. In time the addition will hopefully be self-supporting through retail sales in the gift shop featuring Vaughan memorabilia along with souvenirs devoted to other popular Lawrence County notables such as Davy Crockett, Fred Thompson, and others associated with Lawrence County. Meanwhile, we need support to cover the renovation of the building and ongoing maintenance. Your contribution(s) will be deeply appreciated and you will have the good feeling of having helped bring Lawrence County the world wide recognition it deserves. The James D. Vaughan Real Estate Trust is the cornerstone that can bring hundreds of thousands of Southern Gospel Quartet fans to Lawrence County; coming to see the James D. Vaughan Museum and attend live concerts at The Crockett Theater year round. We thank you for any help you can provide. Sincerely, James D.
