Dear friends,

An idea is in planning stages to put together a promotion to approach the general public locally, the public at large, and corporations known for their charitable work in the area of arts and culture to help us restore The Crockett Theater. There's parting seams of brick in various places of the building, and the Marquee needs immediate attention.

Immediate is not used lightly here;
the marquee HONESTLY NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION.

A few good people over past and recent years have successfully raised funds and upgraded the theater without which the theater today would be in far worse condition that it is presently. The city and county owe these citizens an enormous debt of gratitude for preventing a total disaster.

We need more than a few good people, we need every person in Lawrence County to have the opportunity to be a part of an enormous 'conscience raising' on behalf of our historic and world famous landmark, The Crockett Theater.  The decay is naturally so slow most people don't notice any difference, but photos taken from time to times of the theater over the past few years reveal obvious deterioration.  We are thinking of a brochure with a cover like the enclosed, or an improved concept.

We'd appreciate your honest input on this proposal and your advice, expertise, and support, if you agree The Crockett Theater is vital to Lawrence County Culture.   If you have a better suggestion, let us know.  E-mail; ShoalCreekSage@aol.com
